Abstract
@@ This study was designed to analyze the balance ability of wheelchair users during static wheelie movement. Frame DIAS ‡U motion analysis system (DKH Co. Ltd.) was used in this study. Subjects were four healthy male university students and one male elite wheelchair athlete with spinal cord injury at the thorax level. They performed static wheelie movements in two conditions, i.e., open-eyed condition and closed-eyed condition. Their movements were filmed in the sagittal and frontal plane with two CCD cameras and two video decks. Based on the videoed information, the contribution of the elbow joint angle control to the maintenance of stability will be discussed in the next report.
