講義のテーマ・概要・ねらい

The goal of this course is to make students' spoken English more comprehensible to the audience. Through understanding the English sound system and key vocabularies, practicing dialogues, developing the ability to analyze his/her own speech by presenting short speeches to the class, students should improve their pronunciation and ability to communicate in English effectively. What students learn in this course should enable them to continue making progress on their own even after the course is over. This course will focus on oral delivery on various issues chosen by students' own interests. Students are expected to give at least four prepared oral presentations in class. These will be analyzed and evaluated by classmates.

Active participation in class discussions is highly encouraged and required in order to achieve the class objectives.
